TOUR SIRMIONE & VERONA

After breakfast, departure for Verona. The meeting point with the guide is in Piazza Bra' at the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy. We visit the square, full of buildings from various eras, among which the Renaissance Palazzo Honorij Guastaverza stands out, the work of the great Veronese architect Michele Sammicheli, the Palazzo della Gran Guardia, Palazzo Barbieri, the current Town Hall and... last but not least the spectacular Roman amphitheater Arena . Walking along the ancient decumanus maximus, we reach Piazza Erbe and in the early afternoon we continue to Sirmione where the visit begins from the fourteenth-century Scaligero Castle, surrounded by water, with its port and dock, to continue towards the panoramic road with breathtaking views of the lake. Walk along the main street, Viale Vittorio Emanuele II, up to the famous residence of the divine Maria Callas. At the end of the narrow peninsula that juts out onto the lake, in a splendid panoramic position, there are the remains of the Roman villa known for centuries as the Grotte di Catullo.
