Interesting history and geographical position make Serbia one of the most attractive countries in the Balkans to visit. This time we present you antique sites and remains of ancient Roman cities that were built on the soil of today's Serbia. In order to visit all the locations we need is a few months, so we now only visit some of them. with a fine expert guide, we will try all the parties to remember and imagine how it used to be and what life was at that time.
DAY 1 BELGRADE – KALEMEGDAN – ZEMUN (TAURUNUM)
Kalemegdan is the largest park in Belgrade . At the same time, it is the most important cultural and historical complex , dominated by the Belgrade Fortress above the confluence of the Sava and the Danube.
Zemun, a bohemian village-like neighborhood, is known for its cafes, lively late-night bars and fish restaurants along the riverside promenade. From the Gardoš hill, on the top of which there is a tower from 1896, there is a view of the Danube and the city.
DAY 2 VINCA – POZAREVAC – VIMINACIJUM
The Vinca culture, which laid the foundations of the city of Belgrade 7,000 years ago, is one of the oldest and most ancient cultures in Europe.
Viminacium is the most important city in the Roman province of Upper Mezi (Moesia Superior). This Roman city was the capital of the province, the administrative, military, commercial and industrial center.
DAY 3 LEPENSKI VIR
Lepenski Vir is a locality on the right bank of the Danube and it is one of the largest and most important Mesolithic and Neolithic archaeological sites. Lepenski vir was the seat of one of the most important and most complex cultures of prehistory.
DAY 4 GAMZIGRAD, FELIX ROMULIANA
The locality is named after the mother of Emperor Gaius Valeri Maximilian, called Romula. A very well preserved locality provides us with an insight into life in this Roman province from the 3rd century till now.
DAY 5 BELGRADE – AIRPORT
