In both case, you’ll admire some of the highlights of one of the biggest and stunning urban parks in all of Europe among churches, catacombs, sepulchers and ancient roman villas flanking the famous Appia Antica that has been fascinating people from all over the world from 312 BC. In particular, you’ll visit: Circus and Villa of Maxentius (inside) – the history of the circus that was only ever used once. Tomb of Caecilia Metella (outside) – one of the greatest tombs still standing in the Roman Empire Capo di Bove (inside) -excavated just 15 years ago: from being a simple private villa to the excavation of the archaeological site Quintili’s Villa (outside) – the Quintili brothers, their history, and their murders at the hands of the emperor Commodus.
